Hattley is a Raeras Fen, which is an ancient breed that is very similar to humans, but somehow not. They look like them, but they are usually much larger, stronger and faster. They live up to 1000 years and can not reproduce with each other or with humans, but they could with an Oaen Enn, but to explain that all would take too long... Callistrate is a human woman which is a member of the "guardians of the twelve" and stands for november. Every month stands for a guardian which has special powers and when they die they will be reborn and the organisation tries to find them again, to train them and teach them how to fight against their enemies the S.A.V.A.G.E.N.E.S.S. another organisation consisting of mutants.
The Raeras were almost exterminated by humans. Hattley and his friends were on the run, when he met Callistrate, and imprinted on her. He stayed with her, abandoned his family and his people for her, just to be with her and be able to protect her. The first time, when she died, it nearly broke his heart, but she had sworn to keep returning back to him and she finally did - over and over again. But the last time she was imprisoned and tortured by the S.A.V.A.G.E.N.E.S.S. to reveal information about the Guardians. She resisted, but when she died her mind was a wreck and now that she has returned, she can not remember Hattley, giving him a severe hit right into the heart.
